Working on the pottery wheel is an art and technique that I also enjoy. The pot itself is usually not enough for me, I always like to add a story to it. I’ve used wheel throwing along with my sculptural techniques to share Aesop’s Fables, nature influences, and special relationships of birds as added inspiration to my wheel-thrown pots.
As most of my clay work entails – they are usually twice fired, the second time with an oxide-stain. From there they may be fired again with glazes on them, or I’ll have used Prisma-colored pencil for the surface color, added patinas, and any other additions that seem to speak to me. All share my own special stylized-realism.

Terra cotta clay, oxide-stain, metallic wax patina
Dimensions: 11” height 8” diameter
SOLD, Pamela can do a similar piece $250
Aesop's Fables lent the theme to this wheel thrown piece with sculpted limbs and leaves. The crow knew to drop stone after stone into the pot to raise the water level within its reach. Pamela has done this type of piece a couple of times and they have been very popular. On one of them she actually wrote the whole story on the surface of the pot. Realistic branches of clay, stylized leaves.
