From her studio in Wixom, Michigan, award winning Detroit-born artist, Pamela Day creates imaginative, expressive, unique figurative sculptural ceramic work and paintings – all one of a kind. Pamela Day’s work fascinatingly transcends into the world of fine art by its timeless subject matter, symbolism within each piece, the fine attention to craftsmanship, and personal expression making each work totally unique.

As a fine artist with a concentration of artwork in clay, she is versatile in figurative sculpture, clay reliefs, tiles, and wheel-thrown work.

Her favorite medium for painting is gouache – an opaque watercolor, creating collage-like paintings, expressive flora and fauna, or painting ‘objects of her passion’.

Pamela has also combined painting with her clay work in quite a variety of ways – from the surface of some of her figurative ceramic sculptures to adding depth to the stories and illustrative backgrounds for her figures, as shown in her Grimm Tale Series.
Seen in person with her art at several art fairs, Pamela’s art may be viewed in local or regional exhibits, galleries around Michigan, but primarily in the Metro-Detroit area, Ann Arbor, and Brighton. She can be commissioned to create clay portraits in her “stylized-realism” approach.
