Commission Work
There are times that we need just that special something – either for ourselves, a special event, or ‘just because’ – and you would like the special something to be personal. I would be happy to be a part of that, and below are several pieces that might inspire you, that I have done in the past. Feel free to ask about any other types of work you may see on my website that might inspire you, as well.
Commissioned Custom Jester

A gentleman saw Pamela's work at the Ann Arbor Art Fair, liked the jester characters, and asked for her to make him a specific character. He and Pam worked together on the idea he envisioned to create this jester.

13th birthday
Pamela's grandson turned 13 years old, and wanting to do something especially special for him, she worked with ideas, and photos of him. He had said he didn't need glasses, just a monocle, because his right eye is perfect. She researched monocles and found a 'steam-punk' version of a monocle that she thought would be fun for Henry. He loves his sweatshirts, so she made him appear to be wearing one. For fun she made a removable hat for the head in the colors of the college he admire. (He also got a hat for his birthday, as you can see in the detail images.) He has beautiful golden hair, with lots of depth of color, so she used her metallic wax patinas to highlight the variations of color.

Retirement Sculpture
To the right you see a piece she was commissioned by a company to do a figurative clay sculpture for a retirement gift. This collage shows the different views of the gentleman. Working from photo references of the gentleman, Pamela was asked to show him as the friendly man he is and to include his hands in the sculpture as he was well-known for greeting groups with big open arms, and that, he was to wear a red tie and a blue suit.

From the collection of Elizabeth Anderson
Pamela loves to go back to "just the heads" sometimes.
This one was done especially for her god-daughter, Elizabeth, in celebration of her birthday, with a fun, quirky smile. Notice the little lizard next the ice cream cone inspired hat. Elizabeth - 'lizard-breath.'
These heads can sit or hang on the wall. You, too, can commission such a piece

Dimensions: 8” height, 5” width, 4” depth (mounted and ready to install)
This piece is inspired by the Alleluia Chorus from the Rackham Symphony Choir's rendition of Too Hot to Handel, a jazz, gospel, rhythm and blues variation of Handel's Messiah.
I did this as a donation piece for their yearly fundraiser - An Affair to Remember.
If there's someone that needs to be celebrated, this is a fun way to do so.

A similar box to the Italianate series, this piece served as a memorial to Pamela's Uncle Glenn. Her father, Karl, is the oldest of seven siblings. Some had passed. At this point, his closest brother, Glenn, had died and Pamela did this piece as a memorial to her uncle and to those that had passed before him. The feather symbolizes family as "birds of a feather," and the leaves represent those that have "fallen."
If you have a reason for such a memorial or family piece - Pam can do something similar for you.
